Erling has right. This is a simple, traditional oriented building, with very few ingredients. The colors simply don´t match. @fb: You can leave the materials in the natural color, but then you need to choose them carefully. There are other hard-wood products out there. But like the article states, maybe time will wash it all together.

In the photos the roof tiles are almost the exact same color as the oak rafters, so I think there is some justification for it.

I agree with Erling maybe a copper roof and why not reclaimed bricks.
