Hey fellas, interesting comments and discussion

I love the design, powerful and monumental, but I certainly wont pretend to be an expert on Swedish design - and i'm not sure this captures one of the leading countries in design.

Have you seen or read anything by Alain De Botton?

In his mini series 'The perfect Home' that was shown on BBC (I think?) He discusses the issues of incorporating one's country in a building, and specifically speaks of the embassies of countries.. Certainly worth a look !

I agree totally with Simon, when he says Swedish references was much better. I Don't know Why but now Wingarth is making a lot of buildings. Is Him really so good?? I let the respons in a open field...but there are other swedish architects who deserve more credit. But all the countries have this same problem, Paris only have eyes to Nouvel, is good but not the only one.. Is last works are just nice, some others, more youngers deserve also his time, Portugal have Siza and...Siza, if we think a bit all the countries explore intemporarly one or two architects since the first day he got success...and many of them are losing is time!!They were good one day.

I fail to see how a classical modernist model with villa savoie as a precedent makes for a convincing approach to the design of an embassy today. Looks pretty brutish and the lack of response to the remarkable site and site conditions is also disappointing. Reading about the skin system, material treatment, and references to swedish and american references was much more inspiring.
