This project is not quit beautiful, but highly interesting. What special about this building is creating an architecture which is interwoven with its surroundings. As we now, the architecture along among the visual arts has to deal with outside and inside although it shares with literature this privilege of reflecting the basic dichotomy of the mind. By no means does the conception of the interior require an inversion of ordinary space experience.

I forgot how original most of you are. I'm an architecture student and I found that an architect to be arrogant doesn't need many years of education to get to that level. So what if they like Herzog & de Meuron? Is there a necessity for every architectural project to be 100% original to be sucessful? Does something like that exist? I think the ORDOS 100 is a great opportunity for many of you to show what you are able to do when you have so much freedom to design. The results could be either positive or negative, but at the end the experience and the overall analysis is what counts. Are most of your comments destructive and full of envy because you didn't get invite? You look like Bruno Taut back in the Weissenhofsiedlung housing exhibition were he painted his house red to show his anger.

I value the fact that AD post every ORDOS project and many others here in their blog and I say Thank you for the effort.

Can you say "I really liked Herzog & DeMeuron's switching station in Basel" 10 times fast? Because this is just 2 of them, in white, masquerading as somebody's original design for a house.

ordus, a organuzed group of animals' like the mongolian ordes that went conquering europe and now' the western "arquitetos" are coming back' and with a lot of bad taste, unknowledge of the time and place, building this less architecture.
this was not a competition but participants were choosen by their "academic" ideology
it seems that no one have ever been there' known about the mogols and their heritage and almost no one live in an house designed by themselves

to fino about the context, I think there is no context because architects in Ordos 100 have no information about their neighboors (or just a few). But I agree that it's too bad to see this kind of situation where the client is making a no-context area in order to let the architect play (like the HHF house ...), that seems to be normal in china, dubai, korea ...

and the client say to the architect : please show my money.
